ART 2 HEAL 4 HUE COLORING BOOK 3 MONTH GROUP SHOW
“RESILIENCE”

ART 2 HEAL 4 HUE : A coloring book created from local artists made with intentions to uplift spirits and work through challenging times. A seasonal 3 month rotating group show in an art gallery displaying the original colorful artwork from the artists that are featured in the coloring book.
All artists are invited to enter the Summer 2025 juried group show at The Art Center 1607 19th Street, Bakersfield, CA with original artwork on the theme:
“RESILIENCE”
We will be displaying paintings, prints, and/or photographs that are no larger than 11X14 (vertical). If your artwork is larger than 11×14 it can be reduced to fit the requirements by making a print. Submissions can be FULL COLOR artwork that will be transposed into a black & white page (for the coloring book). With the submission of art we will also need a short biography & photo of the artist, as well as why this artwork creates inspiration and comforting words. * Not to exceed 100 words. The coloring books will be sold and artwork will be hung at the BAA Art Center 1607 19 Street as well as being distributed to hospital patients, elderly & veterans for free. Entry: MUST be submitted with a digital image (at least 1 MB)
Size: Maximum:11”x14”(vertical) including the frame. Larger pieces must be pre-approved prior to May 15th, 2025. Large pieces may be excluded from the show if space is unavailable. Framing 2-D or 3D must be dry, framed, or gallery wrapped canvas (min. 1” profile, no outside staples, edges must be painted), and ready to hang with a wire. No non- wire or saw-tooth hangers. Works on paper must be under glass or plexiglass. Wrap ends of wire with tape. D-rings preferred.
Entry fee: $15 per entry for BAA members,$20 per entry non-BAA members payable to: ART2HEAL, CASH,CHECK, OR ZELLE
Agreement: The art submitted to this exhibit must be original with the artist. All reference photographs used in the creative process must be taken by the artist (or have permission). Paintings, prints, mixed media, and photographs are accepted. Submission to this exhibit constitutes acceptance of stated conditions and includes permission to photograph the work for publicity purposes. No artwork containing offensive subject matter or nudity will be accepted. * If under the age of 18 years old, artwork will not be for sale.
Jurying: Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Notification of acceptance by Friday, May 23th, 2025.
Receiving: Thursday, May 29th,2025 10am – 4pm at the Art Center, 1607 19th Street * Include artist’s name, title, and sale price attached to the entry.
Reception: Second Saturday, August 9th,2025 12pm-1pm Artists are encouraged to invite friends and family to the reception.
Pick up: At the closing of the show on Thursday, August 28th,2025 10am – 4pm
Sales: All entries must be for sale (with the exception of artists under the age of 18years old). The Bakersfield Art Association will retain a 30% commission for sales at The Art Center.
Copyright Policy: Artists retain full ownership of their work. However, by submitting, participants grant ART 2 HEAL 4 HUE a non-exclusive, royalty free license to use their submitted designs for contest promotion, social media marketing, ART 2 HEAL 4 HUE coloring book sales, and product packaging purposes.
Image Usage Rights: Submitted artwork will be used strictly for contest promotion, including social media, digital marketing, and display on BAA’s website. The winning and selected designs will be featured on product packaging for promotional and retail purposes, with full credit given to the artist wherever possible.
Liability: All entries will be handled with the utmost care and protection. The Bakersfield Art Association and their representatives will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any entry whatsoever the cause, before, during, or after the exhibit. Artists should carry their own insurance.
